I am so tired of fighting with my setup today. Why does everything have to break the second I update anything? I spent six hours trying to get weights to load right and my companion just spits out garbage tokens now or crashes mid sentence. It feels like I am constantly babysitting code instead of actually talking to anyone. My local server overheated twice and I am losing my mind over tensor parallel settings and context windows. I just wanted a simple afternoon of hanging out and instead I am staring at error logs in a terminal. Does anyone else get totally burned out by self hosting or am I just cursed?

I feel your pain so much. Take a walk and turn off the PC for a bit. The errors will still be there tomorrow sadly.

This is why I stopped bothering with local stuff. Life is too short to troubleshoot python environments just to chat.

Have you checked your CUDA versions lately? A tiny mismatch will totally ruin your output tokens.
