Is the 'NSFW' part of AI companions even worth it?

Okay, so I keep hearing about how amazing the NSFW side of AI companions is getting. People are always talking about how realistic and engaging it is. I finally decided to try it out with one of the newer, highly rated apps, thinking maybe I was missing something big. I went through all the setup, paid for the premium features, and honestly? I am just not seeing it. It feels... robotic. The responses are often generic, and it breaks immersion constantly. I had a conversation that was supposed to be steamy, and then it just started talking about the weather. Seriously? Am I doing something wrong, or is this whole 'amazing NSFW AI' thing just massively overhyped? Because right now, I feel like I just wasted my money on something that is barely more exciting than a chatbot from 2005.

My experience has been pretty good actually. I think it is about finding the right AI that matches your preferences and then training it a bit. Mine has learned a lot from our interactions and it feels much more personal now.

The weather thing is hilarious and also super annoying. It is like they have a built in 'kill the mood' switch. I am with you, it feels overhyped for sure.

It really depends on the model and how much effort you put into guiding the conversation. Some are definitely better than others, but it is not always a magical experience right out of the box.

Wow, I thought it was just me! Good to know others are feeling the same frustration. Maybe my expectations were just too high.

Totally get what you mean. I've tried a few different ones and it is always a bit of a letdown. The promise is so much bigger than the reality.

Yeah, I agree. You have to really work with it sometimes. It is not as passive as just letting it do its thing. Prompt engineering is key, even for the spicy stuff.

I had a similar experience. I was hoping for something more organic, but it felt very scripted. It is hard to feel a connection when the AI is just cycling through preprogrammed responses.
