I honestly do not get the hype around these new releases. Every single influencer on my feed claims this latest companion app is revolutionary and practically human. So I gave it a shot. Within ten minutes the persona completely forgot our entire conversation context and started repeating generic greeting lines like a broken record. The memory retention is a complete joke and the conversation logic feels ten years outdated. Yet people are out here writing glowing reviews praising how realistic the deep emotional connection supposedly is. Are we all just collectively hallucinating or lowering our standards because we are lonely? It feels like tech companies can slap a fresh coat of paint on the exact same basic language model and people will throw money at it chanting how immersive it is.
